North Penn Agrees To Contracts With Teacher, Staff Unions

The new contract includes teacher salary raises of $1,200, $1,700, and $2,000 in each of the next three years.

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn School District has agreed to a new contracts with its two labor unions which provide salary increases to teachers and other employees over the next three years.

More than a thousand teachers, nurses, guidance counselors, speech clinicians, and others will see a $1,200 salary raise in year one, a $1,700 raise in year two, and a $2,000 raise in year three of the contracts.

Meanwhile, the nearly 500 support staff represented by the North Penn Educational Support Professionals Association will see 2.25, 2.25, and 2.55 percent hourly wage increases in each of the next three years.

“The importance of a strong, talented and committed staff has never been more apparent than it has been over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic,” North Penn Superintendent Curtis Dietrich said in a statement. "The multi-year agreements we have reached with both associations will allow the district’s teachers and support staff to continue to do what they do best, which is to provide an unparalleled education to the future leaders of our community."

Sean Devlin, president of the North Penn Educational Association, praised all sides for working swiftly "in an unprecedented timeframe."
