North Penn Arts Alliance Holds Three-Day Festival
There were more than 100 entries into this year's Members' Exhibition
If you have visited in the past three days, it would have been hard to not notice the photographs, paintings and other artistic works littering the rooms and hallways of the building.
In its 17th year, the North Penn Arts Alliance's Members' Exhibition put on quite a display of creativity and ingenuity. There were water color paintings, oil paintings, magnificent photography and even some well designed pottery available for viewing.
The NPAA Members' Exhibit runs concurrently with the Elm Terrace Garden's flower show.

Thursday was the opening of the exhibition, with Friday adding in the artists' reception and award ceremony. By Saturday, the NPAA was still in the process of selling certain pieces. They were also preparing for the evening finale, which consisted of a raffle. The winners could receive anything from a gift basket to a piece of art.
"Everyone from the art league either donates an original piece of their art, or a gift basket they purchased elsewhere," said Madelyn Peca, NPAA membership president.

As for the amount of original works sold, Peca was happy with the results.
"I think it's been good. We have more sold this year than last year," said Peca.
Sales are not the only goal of the Members' Exhibition, however. It also gives a chance for many local artists to have their works viewed by many of the areas art enthusiasts.
One such artist, Danielle Schaefer, specializes in weaving, and she had two pieces on display. As a previous award winner, Schaefer sees benefits beyond sales and visibility.
"It's important because it (the Members' Exhibition) can help educate students, and it makes life more fun while driving people to express themselves and be more creative," said Schaefer.
As the three-day festival wraps up, NPAA officials said they were happy with the turnout, and incredibly impressed with this year's submissions.
