North Penn To Have Traditional Snow Day Thursday

LANSDALE, PA — The powerful snowstorm hitting Montgomery County and the surrounding area has led North Penn School District to take advantage of the opportunity for a bit of normalcy.
Even though classes could be held virtually, there will be no school of any kind for students in the school district on Thursday, officials announced Wednesday afternoon.
"North Penn remembers...how important snow days are for our kids (and adults)," the district shared.

The district announced plans to have a potential day off Thursday earlier this week, joining a few other districts around the region
At Cinnaminson High School in South Jersey, Superintendent Stephen Cappello called snow days a "one of the true gifts of childhood."

"Far too many chances for them to play and 'just be a kid' have been taken from them over the last nine months," Cappello said.
The North Penn Board of School Directors will hold their scheduled 7 p.m. meeting Thursday evening virtually.
