This year's show featured various paintings and photographs from students as early as kindergarten, all the way through 12th grade.  Even the faculty put their artistic skills to use with localized window displays in various pods.

"We started doing the art show about 25 years ago, and this year we have have works from kindergarten through high school," said Joanne Harris, art department chair at North Penn High School. "We also have an elementary brass band and an orchestra in the cafeteria."

A steady stream of parents, students and art connoisseurs packed the halls of the high school, looking over each piece with enthusiastic and critical eyes.

"My 10th-grade grandaughter has a couple of paintings on display. There are so many talented kids here. There's no doubt about that," said Janet McClain, whose family history with North Penn dates back to her student-teaching experience.

"I'm more into photography, but there were plenty of nice photos," said Pat Rooney, who accompanied McClain for the evening.

For the seniors, the display was extra special. After a brief reception prior to the opening of the doors, select seniors had their works prominently featured along the walls of J-Pod.

To qualify, Harris said the seniors "must have taken at least three art majors, while getting an 'A' in at least two of those classes."

Even as the night came to an end, there were plenty of families still walking from display to display, taking in the collective talent of North Penn School District.

"I'd say this event has been extremely successful," said Harris.
