North Penn Superintendent To Retire

Curtis Dietrich is the longest serving superintendent in North Penn history.

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn Superintendent Curtis Dietrich will retire in June at the end of this school year, the district said in an announcement Tuesday afternoon. 2022 marked the end of his current contract.

Dietrich has held the role for 12 years. He is the longest serving superintendent in district history,

"I am making this announcement now so that our school community and its elected school board is provided ample time to plan its next steps for naming its next superintendent, he said in a statement.

The district cited North Penn's full day kindergarten program, a commitment to one-to-one technology for all students, building renovations across campus, and security overhauls as key achievements which he oversaw.

"His expertise and commitment to NPSD is remarkable and deeply appreciated," Tina Stoll, president, NPSD Board of School Directors, added. "Curt’s retirement is well- earned and we wish him nothing but the best during the years ahead. This community is extremely fortunate to have had Dr. Dietrich as our leader for as long as we did and he will be deeply missed.”

Dietrich originally joined North Penn in 2006 as an assistant superintendent. He was appointed to his current role on Feb. 15, 2010.
