LANSDALE, PA — North Penn has been honored for excellence in school budgeting for the third year in a row. Only 10 PA school districts are honored each year.

The Meritorious Budget Awards are presented by the Association of School Business Officials. The Awards are aimed at promoting school officials' skills in development and presenting a school system budget.

"By applying for the award, school business officials learn best budget presentation practices and enhance their skills in developing, and presenting a school system budget. “School business officials are responsible for ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and that the district budget reflects student priorities and needs,” said ASBO International Executive Director John Musso. “The MBA program helps applicants create an accessible, accurate budget that builds trust with their community. This award recognizes districts that have made it clear they want students at the center of their fiscal plan and vision."

The district said that Carol Pitts, Assistant Director of Business Administration, was vital in attaining the award for the district.
