Opioid Addiction Resource Forum To Be Held In Souderton

Despite an increase in public awareness, addiction cases are on the rise in Lansdale area courts.

SOUDERTON, PA — An upcoming forum on opioid addiction in Montgomery County will aim to bring valuable resources and education, as well as the overdose reversal drug Naloxone, to the local community.

The Drug Addiction Resource Alliance (DARA), formed by Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy in 2017, will hold an addiction prevention forum for the public on Oct. 15 at Souderton Area High School.

Despite an increase in public awareness, addiction cases are on the rise in Lansdale area courts, Duffy said.

D.A.R.A. is a collective of community groups working together to fight the addiction crisis in Montgomery County. The groups will have many information tables available to browse at the meeting.

Resource tables will be available to browse from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The forum, featuring numerous experts, treatment providers, support groups, and local Judge Steven T. O'Neill will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Doses of Naloxone and training on proper usage will be provided as well.

The school is located on 625 Lower Road in Souderton.
