Pennbrook To Celebrate Black History

This year's production, "The Road to Freedom," features important figures in the history of the civil rights movement.

NORTH WALES – In honor of Black History Month, the students and staff at Pennbrook Middle School are preparing to welcome back one of their most successful and well received assembly programs, “The Road to Freedom: A Journey Toward Peace,” on Tuesday, February 16th.

The program will be presented by The Key Arts Productions, a group which performs a live, multimedia assembly program that truly engages, educates and inspires students. This year’s production, “The Road to Freedom,” features important figures in the history of the civil rights movement including Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Dubois, Rosa Parks and many others. The program’s informative and thought provoking live commentary bring to life the story of the crusaders of the civil rights and social equality.

The program will be held in the auditorium at Pennbrook Middle School, located at 1201 North Wales Road in North Wales. There will be two performances of the assembly program; students in grades seven and eight will attend the assembly from 11:20 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. and students in grade nine will attend the program from 12:10 p.m. to 12:55 p.m.
