Replace Your License Plate For Free At Upcoming Lansdale Event

Many motorists unknowingly drive illegally with illegible license plates, officials said.

LANSDALE, PA — A special license plate replacement event will be held in Montgomery County this month.

Organized by AAA and local authorities, the "peeling" event will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 at the AAA Lansdale Branch Office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"In Pennsylvania, vehicle owners can be pulled over and fined up to $100 for having a license plate that is deemed illegible," AAA shared. "According to PennDOT, a registration plate is deemed illegible when one or more characters cannot be recognized from 50 feet, or if the registration plate shows any blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity."
