SEPTA Engineers Authorize Strike
A Regional Rail strike could begin as early as June 14.

SEPTA Regional Rail engineers have authorized a strike, which could begin as early as June 14.
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen voted 166 to 2 to strike, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The union representing Regional Rail electricians, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, already had authorized a strike.

SEPTA in May asked President Barack Obama to appoint an emergency board to help settle the labor disputes. If such a board is appointed, that could delay a strike by 240 days.
SEPTA's Regional Rail engineers have been working without a contract since 2010, the Inquirer said. The electricians have not had a contract since 2009.
