Serial Montco Bank Robber Strikes Again: FBI

A serial bank robber's latest target was PNC bank on Welsh Road in North Wales, which was robbed Saturday.

A serial bank robber struck a PNC bank in North Wales Saturday, and the FBI is searching for the suspect known as the "Straw Hat Bandit."

The suspect, who the FBI believes is the same person who has robbed 10 other banks in the Bucks and Montgomery county region, entered the PNC bank on Welsh Road just after 10 a.m. Saturday. He was wearing a tan hat and a mask and was armed with a gun.

He demanded money from the teller and left with and undisclosed amount of cash, authorities say.

Anyone who can identify him should call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Montgomery Township Police Department at 215-362-2301.

PNC is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Authorities say he is the same suspect believed to have robbed numerous banks, including a First Federal Bank in Wrightstown on Sept. 28, 2012. Other banks the suspect is believed to have robbed include locations in Ambler, Horsham and Plymouth Meeting.
