A&T Subaru 2021 Share the Love® Event Raises over $29,000

A&T Subaru of Sellersville recently presented proceeds from the 2021 Subaru Share the Love® Event to their two Hometown Charities.

A&T Subaru of Sellersville recently presented proceeds from the 2021 Subaru Share the Love® Event to their two Hometown Charities. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Eastern PA – Delaware Region received $15,160.00 and Souderton-based Keystone Opportunity Center received $14,035.00.

This is the ninth year A&T Subaru has selected Keystone Opportunity Center as a Hometown Charity. This donation breaks the $100,000 mark, bringing the total funds raised over the past nine years to $104,299.00. Based in Souderton, Keystone Opportunity Center serves members of the greater community facing homelessness and hunger as well as those in need of education to reach self-sufficiency.

“We are delighted to have been selected yet again as a Hometown Charity by A&T Subaru for the Subaru Share the Love® Event,” said Malcolm Friend, Keystone Opportunity Center’s Director of Resource Development. “And we are thrilled and grateful for the generosity of all involved, including the customers of A&T Subaru, that over the years over $100,000 has been donated to Keystone Opportunity Center.”

Friend continues, “Barry, a single dad of four amazing children, was directed by a friend to connect with us as he was significantly behind in his rent and facing eviction. He was hesitant at first, thinking that ‘charity is for other people in need.’ But putting the needs of his young family first, he called and was connected to our Community Case Management team. Thanks to the Subaru Share the Love® Event, we were able to help prevent eviction, providing rental support and working with his landlord. Barry was also given gas cards to enable him to drive his youngest children to see his eldest daughter perform in her school play. Learning more about the food-insecurity challenges they faced, again, thanks to Subaru Share the Love, we worked with our food-pantry team to ensure he had nutritional foods for his family and fresh produce through our weekly “Fresh for All” food program. And this is only one of the many calls we receive every day.”

The partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Eastern PA – Delaware Region is in its fourth year and fundraising has already reached a total of $56,624.00.

"We are so grateful to A&T Subaru for the generous contribution to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,” said Lauren Iannucci, Executive Director, LLS Eastern PA-Delaware Region. “Every 180 seconds, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer across the U.S., and finding cures take us all. Together, we’re creating a world without blood cancer.”

“Every year, our customers come through in a big way,” said Phil LaFiura, General Sales Manager at A&T Subaru. “We have such a special relationship with our customers, and we value that. To see what we can accomplish when we all focus on a big goal, it’s great for everyone, especially these agencies doing such important work in the community.”

The 2021 Subaru Share the Love® Event ran from November 18, 2021 to January 3, 2022 and allowed Subaru retailers the opportunity to select charities operating in their community to be included in a list of organizations that customers leasing or purchasing a new Subaru can choose from to receive a $250 donation from Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA). The following four national charities were:

• The ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®)
• Make-A-Wish®
• Meals on Wheels America
• National Park Foundation

For the sixth year in a row, there was no cap on the total donation from SOA to its Subaru Share the Love® Event charitable partners.
