UPDATE: DA Says Montgomery Township Shooting Victim Dead; Homicide Investigation Begins

DA: A 36-year-old woman died at hospital after being shot, 56-year-old man found dead with apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to head.

The female victim of a shooting on Thursday night in Montgomery Township has died, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday afternoon.

The victim, 36-year-old Brienne Francisco, was medevaced to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center on Thursday night where she was pronounced dead, District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said.

SWAT teams also found a 56-year-old male dead inside the house with a revolver next to his body, Ferman said.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the male appeared to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the DA’s office.

Reports that emerged on Thursday night indicated that the male inside the home was the gunman.

The DA also said that Francisco and the male lived at the residence on Karen’s Court.

The male’s name is being withheld pending family notification of his death, according to the DA.

A joint homicide investigation between the Montgomery Township Police Department and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has begun, according to an announcement made Friday.
