‘Wall Of Love’ To Support Lansdale Drag Queen Story Hour
The "Wall of Love" aims to welcome children and families to the special story hour.

LANSDALE, PA — A “Wall of Love” will stand in support of the drag queen story hour at Lansdale Public Library Saturday that has drawn the ire of a national religious group.
With a Christian group planning to gather outside the library beforehand, the Wall is not being presented as a counter-protest. Rather, it’s a show of support for those who choose to attend.
“We will create a Wall of Love to welcome the children and families to the special story time,” organizers said, “While a local misguided group of so-called ‘Christians’ are protesting outside the story time with foul homophobic lies.”

Drag queen and Lansdale resident Annie Christ will perform a variety of skits that reinforce the message of acceptance, diversity, and "being a little different," event organizers said.
A national Christian group called the American Pastors Network has taken aim at the story hour, circulating a petition and urging its audience to contact the library and state their opposition. The group characterized the event, which preaches tolerance, as "perversion from the nightclubs and sexually charged pride parades."

Attendees to the Wall of Love are encouraged to bring food donations for Manna on Main.
The gathering will begin at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the library.
Organizers recommended signs be made family friendly, including children’s art work, glittery images, hearts, rainbows, and similar images — no signs of hate or foul language.
Rise Up Doylestown is hosting the event, along with SAGA Community Center and Montgomery County LGBT Business.
