Woman Struck, Killed On Lansdale/Doylestown SEPTA Line

LOWER GWYNEDD, PA — A woman was struck and killed on the SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown regional rail line Tuesday morning, leading the line to be shut down for hours, authorities said.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. at Pennllyn Station in Lower Gwynedd Township, immediately shutting down service from the borough to Center City.

The incident was first described by authorities as a medical emergency and police activity. Little is known about the victim or circumstances leading up to the incident, beyond that the victim was a woman.

The line was operational again by 9:45 a.m., but SEPTA said that "residual delays" should be expected as the line returns to normalcy.
