Women From Ambler, King Of Prussia Killed In 202 Parkway Accident

Police have identified the victims of the tragedy that shut down the road for hours Monday.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — The two victims killed in the crash on 202 Parkway in Montgomery Township on Monday have been identified by authorities as women from Montgomery County.

The driver of the SUV involved in the crash was a 50-year-old King of Prussia, CBS News first reported. The passenger in the 2017 Toyota RAV4 was an 86-year-old Ambler woman.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene. Their names have not yet been publicly released.

The incident occurred just before noon on the Parkway near Horsham Road.

Authorities said the SUV crossed over the yellow line and hit the oncoming tractor trailer, which carried multiple vehicles on its bed, head on.

The parkway remained closed from Horsham Road to County Line Road for hours after the incident. The walking trail paralleling the parkway was shut down over that stretch as well.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
