2 Cited For Their Dogs Attacking Levittown Man: Police

Bristol Township Police Friday cited two Levittown men for dog law violations in which a man was injured walking his pets earlier this week.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —Two Levittown men have been cited for dog law violations in connection with an incident Monday on Ruby Lane in which another Levittown man was injured by their dogs, police said.

Lt. Sean Cosgrove said Friday that the investigation is closed involving the incident in which a man was attacked by two dogs while he was walking his own pets.

Joseph Monaghan told Action News 6 that he was walking his two dogs around 2:30 p.m. Monday when one dog approached.

"He started coming after us, and he started lunging for me and the little dog and then started attacking my golden retriever," Monaghan told Action News. Watch the video of the report.

Monaghan told the network that he was hospitalized for serious bite wounds to his hand. He said his dogs were treated for puncture wounds.

Cosgrove said the first dog owner was cited for failure to obtain a license and not getting a vaccination that was required.

He said the second dog owner was cited for failure to obtain a license, not getting a vaccination that was required, and confinement and control.

Police did not name the dog owners in a press release.
