BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —Two dogs were rescued from a fire at a Winder Drive home Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Kevin T. Dippolito, Bristol Township's fire marshal, said crews responded at 1:16 p.m. Saturday to the 1000 block of Winder Drive for a fire that was contained to the kitchen. He said that the fire started near the stove.
Dippolito said the two dogs were rescued by firefighters, taken to a vet by the family, and are recovering.

Third District Fire Company Chief Howard McGoldrick told Patch that firefighters deployed two attack lines to combat flames in the kitchen and brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
The homeowner was reunited with the two dogs that had been inside the burning home before firefighters got them out.
"The dogs were rescued from the home and given to the homeowner, who took them to the emergency vet to get checked out," McGoldrick said. “All companies worked together to bring the fire under control quickly with minimal damage.”
