27-Year-Old Killed By Amtrak Train In Levittown

The fatal incident happened at 10:15 a.m. Saturday morning in the track area at Levittown Station.

A 27-year-old man was killed by an Amtrak train in Levittown on Saturday morning.

Multiple media outlets have identified the deceased man as George Redner III, 27. He was in the track area of SEPTA’s Levittown Station by an Amtrak train heading for New York City around 10:15 a.m., the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The Bucks County Courier Times reported that Redner was an Edgely firefighter and the son of Tullytown Fire Co. Lieutenant George Redner Jr. His mother, Jacqueline, is vice president of the Pennsbury School Board, according to the Courier Times.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the manner of death, the Courier Times said.

There were 304 passengers on board at the time and no injuries reported to any passengers or crew, Amtrak Spokesman Craig Schulz said.

“The train is being held for an investigation but other trains are operating at restricted speed through the area. Some delays can be expected as we work through the resulting congestion,” Schulz said.
