4th Annual Community Recycling Day Scheduled for May 28

On May 28, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Bucks County residents can drop-off items at Harry S. Truman parking lot, 3001 Green Lane, Levittown.

Need an incentive to get started on spring cleaning? Bristol Township School District and Bucks County Recycling Commission recently announced that the Fourth Annual Community Recycling Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 28, 2016. Now is the time to safely discard household hazardous waste, lawn and garden products, bathroom and cleaning solvents and more.

On May 28, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Bucks County residents can drop-off items at Harry S. Truman parking lot, 3001 Green Lane, Levittown.

The following waste will be accepted:

* Paint and paint-related materials (solvent-based paints and stains and paint thinner).

* Lawn and garden products and outdoor products (pesticides, chemical fertilizers and swimming pool chemicals).

* Bathroom and cleaning solvents (aerosol cans, fire extinguishers and cleaning solvents).

* Automotive products (used motor oil, antifreeze, car batteries, and brake fluid).

* Flammable materials (kerosene, old gasoline and oil/gas mixtures).

* Household batteries.

Please note, the following items will not be accepted: scrap metal, latex paint, appliances with Freon, asbestos, explosives, radioactive wastes, biological wastes, gas cylinders, pressurized CFC’s, electronic waste including computers and computer related equipment, televisions, cell phones, radios, stereos, CD players, video games, camcorders, speakers, and small appliances.

Don’t forget the shoes!
Residents are also encouraged to drop off used shoes in good condition. The Truman High School Environmental Club is collecting shoes and is collaborating with Community Recycling of Fairless Hills. The shoe collection fundraiser will be used to purchase solar panels for the District.
