Alleged Levittown Robbery Suspect Held Down By Witnesses: Report

A Levittown man is behind bars after allegedly trying to attack and rob a woman during an incident Saturday that was caught on tape outside the Queen Anne Shopping Center.

According to 6ABC, a group of residents intervened and held down George Blackwell, 60, until police could get there and arrest him.

Blackwell is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft and related offenses, court documents show. He is being held in Bucks County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Blackwell’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 16.
