Bridge Inspections On 2 Lower Bucks Highways Begin

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Bridge inspections will take place this week on two key Lower Bucks County highways, causing lane closures for drivers, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said bridge inspections are scheduled on Interstate 76 and I-295 in Philadelphia and Bucks counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-295 between the Business U.S. 1 and U.S. 1 interchanges in Middletown Township.
  • Tuesday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-295 between the U.S. 1 and the Business U.S. 1 interchanges in Middletown Township.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
