Bucks County Business Helps Collect Christmas Cards For Child
A Lower Bucks County businessman is collecting cards for a little boy who needs some cheer.
Langhorne resident Jay Green, the owner of Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint at 1205 Highland Avenue in Middletown's Parkland section, is once again helping make Christmas for a 13-year-old North Carolina boy whose father was from Bucks County.
Through Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint, Green is working to fulfill Liam's wish to receive Christmas letters and cards. Liam is autistic and loves getting mail.
Liam's father, who Green grew up with in Langhorne, sent a request for letters to the business owner known for his unique and delicious offerings in 2014. Green pushed to get his customers to send letters to Liam and created the "Letters for Liam" campaign.

Sadly, Liam's father, Cameron Cannon, passed away suddenly a few days after Christmas 2014. His death pushed Green, whose business centers around giving back to the community, to try even harder to make sure Liam receives a mountain of letters for Christmas.
"I lost my father a few years back and I want to help make sure he won't be sad on Christmas," Green said from behind the grill at his recently opened new store. 'Who doesn't want a kid to be happy?"

In the past two years, local high schoolers and church members have contributed cards along with hundreds of Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint customers. Liam has even received cards from as far away as California and Texas.
Last December, Green had the chance to drive to North Carolina to personally deliver hundreds of cards for Liam. The then-12-year-old was thrilled with the delivery.
"These cards are important to Liam," Green said "What's one extra card on your list?"
The Letters for Liam campaign is one of many great causes that Green helps out. In the past few years, Green has donated thousands of pounds of food to those in need, collected hundreds of coats to keep area kids warm, worked with local first responders to help raise funds and assisted local residents trying to get back on their feet with a job at his one-of-a-kind shop.
To contribute a card, either drop off your holiday card/letter or mail to Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint, 1205 Highland Avenue, Parkland, PA 19047.
