Update: Route 1 Southbound Reopens After Crash

PennDOT said the accident happened Wednesday afternoon near Route 32. The highway reopened Wednesday afternoon.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA —A motor vehicle crash closed southbound Route 1, causing delays for commuters on both sides of the highway. The road reopened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Brad Rudolph, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

He said that PennDOT assistance was not needed for the crash on the highway between Stony Hill Road and North Oxford Valley Road.

Southbound Route 1 remains closed at Route 32 while police handle the crash and investigation, Rudolph said.

The extent of vehicles involved and injuries was unknown at this time.
