"We have received numerous complaints about credit card skimming devices in the past and we have been frequently checking the pumps for skimmers and working with the business owners to prevent them in the first place," police said in a statement.

Police said they would increase checks on gas pumps for the devices and that all business owners have cooperated during the investigations.

Anyone who may have used the gas pumps at these locations recently should make sure to monitor credit card activity, police said.

Police also advise that the credit card company should be contacted for a replacement card and that an alert should be placed on accounts to monitor suspicious activity.
