Friends Village

Friends Village offers community living rooted in purpose, belonging and choice. Blending Quaker values and active aging, we promote connection and care for one another. Our residents live well, engaged with the wider world and confident they will have support should they need it. Located on two campuses, Friends Village provides independent living and personal care in peaceful settings embedded in residential neighborhoods. Our Paxson Campus is in the heart of Newtown Borough, close to shops, dining and local events. Our Styer Campus, on Lower Dolington Road, boasts raised-bed gardens and walking paths for resident enjoyment. The full calendar of resident-informed programming features lectures, wellness classes, discussion groups and cultural events to promote residents’ intellectual, physical and social well-being. If needed, Friends Village provides our residents with flexible, affordable support in their own apartments through its NeighborCare program. By using our long-tenured and dedicated staff, it is a home care service without the onerous minimum hours or uncertain staffing of agencies. And if care needs increase further, personal care is available in our historic Paxson Hall. What truly sets Friends Village apart is the warm sense of community. While residents remain connected outside of our walls, our small size and intentional approach ensure that each resident is known and know that they genuinely belong – they thrive, make new friends and live well. Tyburn Road eastbound between New Ford Mill Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Falls Township will be reopened to traffic Wednesday, Dec. 10, PennDOT has announced. Westbound Tyburn Road will remain closed and detoured between Pennsylvania Avenue and New Ford Mill Road until spring 2015. The work is part of a $14.9M project to restore the bridge over Amtrak. The project began in May 2013.

Our annual bingo night fundraiser is back at the Bristol Moose Lodge Saturday, June 27! Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:00 p.m.&nbsp; Tickets are on sale now for $30 in advance. The entry fee includes 10 rounds of bingo (3 bingo cards per game) and a door prize ticket. Additional bingo cards will be available for sale at the event&nbsp; .If you purchase a group of 8 or more tickets, we will reserve seating together for you. Smaller groups and individual tickets will be first-come, first-served seating.&nbsp; Bingo winners will receive $200 or more. In the event two or more people have a good bingo in the same game, the cash prize will be split among all winners. We will also have additional chances to win with incredible raffle prizes, door prizes and a 50/50.&nbsp; Due to the current gambling laws for PA, mature teens may attend for a social night with their family, but they are not permitted to win bingo, so they must be accompanied by an adult who can claim their prize.
