Falls Honors Fatal Crash Victims with Memorial Markers
Two families placed markers at the Falls Township sites where their loved ones died.
In line with Falls Township's memorial marker program launched in fall 2021 to honor victims of fatal crashes, two families joined Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney, representatives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Nova Bucks and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office to place memorial markers at the places where their loved ones died on Friday.
Louis DeMartino lost his son, Joseph Michael DeMartino, on June 27, 2019, to a DUI-impaired driver, at North Oxford Valley Road and Devon Road, in Fairless Hills. Robert Bissinger lost his brother, Steven C. Bissinger, on August 14, 1982, to a DUI-impaired driver, in the area of 323 Lincoln Highway, in Fairless Hills.
Families interested in having a memorial marker placed to recognize a loved one should contact Sgt. Christopher Clark at c.clark@fallstwppd.com, or stop by the police department's records department.
