Falls Introduces Online No Solicitation Registry
Falls Township is making it easier for residents to prevent unwanted solicitors from knocking on the door.

In an effort to make it even easier to keep unwanted salespeople and others peddling goods from disturbing Falls residents at home, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors recently launched an online registry to opt out of solicitation.
The effort was shared on the township’s Facebook page Saturday morning and within 12 hours had received 24 shares, views by nearly 2,500 Facebook users – and most importantly – no solicitation signups from 185 people.
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible to prevent solicitors from bothering our residents,” Supervisors Chairman Bob Harvie said. “An important part of the no solicitation registry is ensuring that salespeople adhere to our ordinance and respect our residents’ wishes to not be disturbed.”

The no solicitation registry ordinance, which was adopted in 2014, does not apply to charities, nonprofits, religious or political organizations as those entities are permitted, under law, to make house calls.
Once residents add their name to the no solicitation registry, it is then distributed to anyone who applies for a solicitation permit with instructions not to solicit at the addresses on the list.
