Levittown Man Torches Pick-Up Truck, Damages 8 Vehicles: DA

A Levittown man faces arson charges for setting fire to the vehicle at a used car dealership in Lodi, N.J., authorities said.

LEVITTOWN, PA —A Levittown man faces arson charges for torching a pickup truck at a used car dealership in northern New Jersey last month, authorities said.

Jonathan R. Czyzewski, 37, of Levittown faces charges of aggravated arson, arson, and criminal mischief, Bergen County (N.J.) Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, the Lodi Police Department responded to a vehicle fire at 62 Route 46, which is a used car dealership called MFT Auction.

Police officers found a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck fully engulfed in flames, and they successfully suppressed the fire.

However, prior to the fire being put out, eight other vehicles parked in the vicinity of the pickup truck were also damaged by fire, authorities said.

An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lodi Police Department revealed that Czyzewski had intentionally set the vehicle on fire.

Czyzewski was charged with second-degree aggravated arson, third-degree arson, and third-degree criminal mischief. He was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown, pending extradition to Bergen County, N.J.

The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Lodi Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Scorzetti.
