School officials informed parents in an email that the lockdown protocol was due to an alleged report of a security concern in a surrounding neighborhood.
They sent another email saying the lockdown was over for the last day of the school year.
"The Brookwood Elementary School outside security situation has been resolved," school officials said. "The lockdown has been lifted and dismissal is now moving forward. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding."
