Memorial Day 2019 Parades Set In Langhorne, Hulmeville

LANGHORNE, PA — Residents of the Levittown area will have two parades to choose from to observe Memorial Day on Monday.

In Langhorne, the 100th American Legion Post 148 Memorial Day will be held. It will be preceded by a 9 a.m. program at the American Legion post at 115 W. Richardson Ave. in Langhorne.

Guest speaker will be Kevin McCloskey, a double-amputee who served in the war in Afghanistan.

The parade will begin at the post immediately after the program.

This year, there will be six bands performing in the parade, a flat honoring service men and women from World War I to the present and a bike decorating contest for children.

At the beginning of the parade, the American Legion will be collecting new socks, underwear and t-shirts for veterans groups.

Meanwhile, the Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade is set for 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 25.

It will start on Ford Avenue in Hulmeville and run down Main Street, Hulme Street and Bellevue Avenue before continuing into Penndel to Crescent Street and Hulmeville Avenue, ending at the Penndel Recreation fields.

An afternoon ceremony is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park, at Bellevue Avenue and Neshaminy Street. The ceremony will include live speeches and music. It is sponsored by the Hulmeville Historical Society.
