Neshaminy All-Stars To Take On Harlem Wizards

Proceeds from the evening of basketball entertainment will go to the Neshaminy Education Foundation.

LANGHORNE, PA — An evening of hoops, and laughs, has been scheduled for next month, all to benefit education in the Neshaminy School District.

A team of Neshaminy all-stars will hit the hardwood to take on the Harlem Wizards in the district's third-annual benefit game for the Neshaminy Education Foundation.

The game is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Neshaminy High School. The school is located at 2001 Old Lincoln Hwy. in Langhorne.

Tickets for the event are $12 general admission and $25 for a Courtside Plus ticket that includes premium seats and a pre-game meet-and-greet with the Wizards' players.

Created in 1962, the Wizards are a comedy-first team that combines their on-court basketball skills with entertaining the crowd. They've been compared to the Harlem Globetrotters, who were formed in 1926.

They'll be taking on a squad of teachers, administrators and support staff from Neshaminy school. The team will include:

  • Buck Elementary: Pricipal Brian Kern, Robert Crozier, Cara Buttari, Amanda Arner and Kylene Morecz
  • Hoover Elementary: Jaimie Salt, Jennifer Gaft, Walter McGee
  • Miller Elementary: Leslie Maxwell
  • Schweitzer Elementary: Meagan McHugh, Jodi Kurley
  • Tawanka Elementary: Robert Wright, Scott Blaydon, Perry Finkel
  • Maple Point Middle: Skip Mason (coach), Officer Melissa Robison
  • Sandburg Middle: Sue Eagen
  • Poquessing Middle: Bill Barnes (assistant coach)
  • District office: Superintendent Joseph Jones III, Joe Rischow, John Iannacone
  • NEF: Barb Hershowitz
