PA Turnpike Bridge Construction Will Close Lower Bucks Road

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Construction is planned on the Pennsylvania Turnpike starting Monday in Bensalem and Bristol township, which will mean motorists will have to deal with a road closure for a week.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning bridge construction on Newportville Road in Bristol and Bensalem townships.

The construction is expected to start on Monday, Feb. 12, and last through Friday, Feb. 16, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The closure is scheduled on Newportville Road between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.
