Paving Project in Middletown Twp. Kicks Off Week Of Sept. 19

Township has scheduled 17 roads for paving and milling. A lot will be paved for pickelball courts on Sept. 5.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Milling and paving of more than a dozen roads will start the week of Sept. 19, township officials announced.

The road project is part of a 14-year plan to repave more than 100 miles of township-owned roads. Construction is expected to be completed by the fall.

Motorists are advised to follow posted signage as crews perform work.

The township's road improvement program, now in its 10th year, includes repaving the parking lot at Twin Oaks Park, which began last week.

The milling and paving of the following roadways will begin the week of Sept. 19:

  • Doublewoods Rd, from Fulling Mill Rd to dead end
  • Knoll Ave, entire length
  • Shaw Ave, entire length
  • Fairhill Ave, from Old Lincoln Highway to dead end
  • Grand Ave, entire length
  • S Hazel Ave, entire length
  • Hill St, entire length
  • Orchard Ave, entire length
  • Walnut St/Bristol Ave, from parking lot on PFC John Delola Ave to municipal line
  • Dogwood St, entire length
  • Turtle Ln, entire length
  • Deer Dr, entire length
  • E Ravine Ave, entire length
  • Eagle Ln, entire length
  • Pheasant Dr, entire length
  • Granite Ave, entire length
  • Forget Me Not Ln, entire length

The above dates are the current tentative schedule and are subject to change.

JD Morrissey, Inc. is handling the milling and paving. The contract to complete the project was awarded for $1.76 million.

In addition to these roads, PennDOT is busy throughout the area repaving state-owned roads.
