'Police Presence' For Training Drill In Middletown Twp.

Middletown Township Police said they are participating in a drill with Bucks County Dispatchers around Pennswood Village.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —The Middletown Township Police Department is alerting residents and motorists of a training drill Wednesday morning.

Middletown Township Police said that at 10 a.m. Wednesday, there will be a "heightened police presence" in the area of Pennswood Village retirement community around Route 413.

But it's just a drill, police said.

The drills help communities prepare for cases of missing residents from their facilities, police said.

Police said that the retirement community's staff —along with the police department and county dispatchers —are taking part in an elopement drill.

Pennswood Village is located off Route 413 near Tollgate Road between the George School and St. Mary Medical Center at 1382 Newtown-Langhorne Rd. The village includes dozens of buildings.

"Training is critical to prepare for incidents of this nature and we applaud Pennswood for taking the time for something so important," police said.
