Police Seek Suspect In Lower Bucks Co. Shooting

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bristol Township Police Department has identified the suspect wanted in the shooting of a 33-year-old woman on Tuesday night around Norton Avenue.

Bristol Township Police said they have obtained an arrest warrant for Jason Edward Gater in the shooting incident.

Gater is described as being 47 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighing 230 pounds. He is balding with hazel eyes.

Police said Gater has tattoos on both sides of his neck, and both arms and hands.

He is also considered armed and dangerous.

Bristol Township Police are charging Gater with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, not being allowed to possess a weapon, simple assault, not allowed to carry a firearm without a license, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal trespass for entering a structure.

The shooting happened at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Norton Avenue and Watson Avenue.
Police said an anonymous woman called 911 and reported a female gunshot victim.

Police officers said the woman was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center. She is in stable condition.
