Route 1 Bridge Construction Planned For Saturday

PennDOT said motorists should expect periodic lane closures for the bridge work in Middletown and Bensalem townships on Saturday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —The work is moving to the weekend.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will perform bridge construction on Route 1 and Old Lincoln Highway at the Route 1 overpass in Middletown Township under a project to improve Route 1 in Bucks County.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
