Shooting Threat Under Investigation At Pennsbury School

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —A statement found in the bathroom of a Pennsbury elementary school stating "I am going to shoot up the school,” is under investigation by school officials and authorities.

An email from Pennsbury Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith and Manor Elementary Principal Terri Salvucci said that on Friday, a student reported a "concerning statement" written in red marker in the stall of a boy's bathroom at the Manor Elementary School.

The statement was, “I am going to shoot up the school.”

School officials said they reviewed hallway cameras to determine who used the bathroom and are also comparing handwriting samples.

The Falls Township Police Department was notified and is working with the school district to investigate the incident.

Since the school district has not identified who is responsible, it is taking additional security measures while the investigation continues.

"We take every matter involving school security seriously, but we, along with local authorities, do not believe this is a credible statement or threat," school officials said.
