Student Mourned By Bristol Township School Community
School officials said a 9-year-old boy died Tuesday night following an accident at his Croydon home.
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bristol Township School District is mourning the loss of one of its students who died at his Croydon home on Tuesday night.
Schools Superintendent Michael Nitti sent a letter to the school community about a tragic accident involving 9-year-old Lex Heinisch, a 4th grader at Mill Creek Elementary School.
"It is with profound sadness that I share that one of our students died in his home on Tuesday evening after an accident," Nitti said. "We appreciate your understanding as the school community comes together to support the family and each other during this very difficult time."

"Lex was a student at Mill Creek since kindergarten and has touched many lives in his time with us. Our condolences and deepest sympathies are extended to all who have been impacted by this tragic loss. Today we are a grieving school community," Nitti said.
A GoFundMe page was launched by Nicki Grant that has raised more than $20,000 of its $35,000 goal.

"Our hearts are broken to share that we’ve lost our sweet and crazy #8, Lex Heinisch unexpectedly," Grant said. "Lex loved Metallica, Squid Games, playing guitar, and soccer. He poured his heart out on the field every practice, game, and training session. While we do not know how to sufficiently support Lex’s family during this impossible time, it is our hope to help ease the financial burden of the unfathomable funeral expenses for this family. Thank you for your support in helping the family breathe just a little bit easier."
The superintendent said that its District Crisis Team has been activated since many children and community members may be affected (either directly or indirectly) by this loss.
Nitti said counselors are available at Mill Creek and throughout the school district to assist staff and students in need.
"If you feel that your child is having difficulty coping with this event, please let us know as soon as possible. As always, our counselors will remain accessible to the entire student body, and with the help of our faculty, attempt to identify any students who may be having ongoing difficulties," Nitti said.
Nitti said that any traumatic event can trigger an emotional reaction, even to an unrelated event (family illness, prior losses, etc.).
