Authorities brought the victim to Mission Kids, a child advocacy center that interviews young victims of crimes, on Jan. 6, the DA said. Police said that while the interview was going on, Monica drove to the house of the victim and parked outside with a semi-automatic handgun on him.

Officers responded to the scene in the Raven's Claw neighborhood, and Monica refused to come out right away, threatening suicide and displaying the weapon, police said.

During the standoff, residents on Masters Drive were evacuated. A warming shelter was set up at the Limerick Township Building. All Spring-Ford students who reside in the Raven's Claw neighborhood were taken to Evans Elementary School while the standoff was ongoing.

Monica eventually surrendered and was arrested. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired.
