Montco HS Reopens After Moisture, Mold Forced Closure

After a week long closure due to excessive moisture and mold, a local high school has said its safe to come back.

RED HILL, PA — A Montgomery County high school officially reopened on Monday after shutting down for a week due to issues with excessive moisture and mold.

Upper Perkiomen High School passed the necessary air quality testing to open its doors again on Monday. The high school was on a two hour delay Monday so that teachers could prepare their classrooms.

Mold was first noticed in the school over the summer. District officials said that extreme heat and humidity in recent days has drastically worsened the problem.
