Phoenixville Students Awarded For Protecting Schuylkill Watershed
The Schuylkill Action Network recognized the work of several Phoenixville students in protecting sources of drinking water in the region.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA -- Every year, the Schuylkill Action Network awards three schools in the Schuylkill Watershed that help protect sources of drinking water - that is the creeks, streams, and rivers where we get our water from.
Water protection activities can include stormwater management practices, class projects, educational programs, community engagement, and more, the Network said.
In 2016, Phoenixville was one of the three schools honored, along with Perkiomen Valley and Green Woods Charter in Philadelphia.

About 20 students from the Envirothon and Environmental Awareness Club worked with the Green Valley Watershed Association to install a 860 square foot bioswale on the campus.
The project provided a service opportunity for the students and a continued environmental education resource for the school.
