Spring-Ford Band Teacher Named Quarterfinalist In Grammy Museum Educator Awards

Spring-Ford's Director of Bands Seth Jones has been named a quarterfinalist in the Grammy Museum's Educator Awards!

ROYERSFORD, PA — Spring-Ford's Director of Bands Seth Jones has been named a quarterfinalist in the Grammy Museum's Educator Awards, the school district said on Friday.

Jones was one of just 197 music teachers from across the nation, chosen from a pool of 2,300 initial nominations, to receive the quarterfinalist honor. Jones is one of 11 teachers in Pennsylvania to make it this far.

The Grammy Museum's Educator Award honors music teacher that have "made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools," according to the organization.

The winner of the award will be recognized during Grammy Week in 2018, and will travel to New York to participate in the festivities.

In addition to the the winner, the nine other finalists and their schools will receive $1,000 each, while fifteen semifinalists and their schools will receive $500.
