No Ruling On Rainy Trick Or Treating In Limerick, Spring City
With rain scheduled for Halloween, here's what the trick or treating situation looks like in the Limerick, Royersford, and Spring City area.

LIMERICK, PA — With heavy rain predicted to hit the area on Halloween this Thursday, many residents have been left wondering what that means for the local trick or treating situation.
In Limerick, Royersford, and Spring City, there are no mandated trick or treating hours or any formal rules surrounding the holiday, so the forecast of rain has not spurred the municipalities to make a decision for the entire community.
In Limerick, the township's Parks and Recreation department issued a statement on Tuesday reiterating this point.

The weather has clouded an already murky situation for some reasons. Many municipalities have no formal Halloween rules, and simply encourage residents to exercise caution. Some enforce curfews on Halloween, some have looser curfews, and some go as far as to declare trick or treating or Halloween activities take place on a day other than Oct. 31.
Nearby, in Pottstown, Mayor Stephanie Henrick has created an online poll to see when residents prefer to hold trick or treating.
Other municipalities, like Exeter, have already switched their trick or treating to Wednesday.
Also increasingly popular are "trunk or treats," where area businesses and organizations gather in a large parking lot or similar area and disperse candy to children from their trunks.
