• The untold reason Chobani decided to invest $1.2 billion in the Lehigh Valley (mcall.com) — A massive new Chobani plant in Upper Macungie almost fell through because the township couldn't handle the yogurt maker's huge wastewater needs on its own. Allentown, South Whitehall, and Lower Macungie agreed to temporarily loan sewer capacity so the $1.2 billion investment could move forward, while Lehigh County Authority rushes infrastructure upgrades that won't raise regular customers' water and sewer bills.
   

• The Trump administration will force Pa. to pay more for SNAP. Shapiro's office says it can't. (inquirer.com) — Pennsylvania could soon be forced to shoulder hundreds of millions more to run and fund SNAP under President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a shift Gov. Shapiro's office says the state budget can't absorb. While Trump recently visited Mack Trucks in Macungie, the bigger impact for local families is the risk of tighter eligibility, reduced benefits, and pressure on other state services.
