Dunkelberger's Jewelry in Kutztown, Pa., is closing its doors after nearly 80 years in business. The store's going-out-of-business sale begins on Tuesday, May 26, offering shoppers the chance to purchase genuine fine jewelry at discounted prices.

Store owner Jim Springer, 73, says he feels the time was right to retire and close the store. He views this closing with mixed emotions, feeling both bittersweet about saying goodbye and hopeful as he embraces the next chapter focused on reducing stress and enjoying retirement.

The full-service jewelry store sells an array of items, including bridal sets, diamonds, and various gemstones, all of which will be deeply discounted for the going-out-of-business sale.

Expect prices for every budget, from $100 to $10,000. “We feature an eclectic mix of jewelry designs,” says Springer. “We’ve consistently chosen unique pieces to sell in the store; jewelry you won’t see everyone else wearing.”

When asked how he would like the store to be remembered, he hopes customers will think of Dunkelberger's Jewelry as standing for quality, reliability, and honest service. “We’re grateful for all the community support we’ve received over the years,” says Springer. “I feel like I’m retiring on a high note.”
