Friends Village offers community living rooted in purpose, belonging and choice. Blending Quaker values and active aging, we promote connection and care for one another. Our residents live well, engaged with the wider world and confident they will have support should they need it. Located on two campuses, Friends Village provides independent living and personal care in peaceful settings embedded in residential neighborhoods. Our Paxson Campus is in the heart of Newtown Borough, close to shops, dining and local events. Our Styer Campus, on Lower Dolington Road, boasts raised-bed gardens and walking paths for resident enjoyment. The full calendar of resident-informed programming features lectures, wellness classes, discussion groups and cultural events to promote residents’ intellectual, physical and social well-being. If needed, Friends Village provides our residents with flexible, affordable support in their own apartments through its NeighborCare program. By using our long-tenured and dedicated staff, it is a home care service without the onerous minimum hours or uncertain staffing of agencies. And if care needs increase further, personal care is available in our historic Paxson Hall. What truly sets Friends Village apart is the warm sense of community. While residents remain connected outside of our walls, our small size and intentional approach ensure that each resident is known and know that they genuinely belong – they thrive, make new friends and live well. Glencairn Museum

Travel back in time more than 1,000 years to explore life in the Middle Ages! Discover the stories behind medieval objects in the Glencairn collection, enjoy hands-on activities that get you up close with stained glass, weapons and armor, sculpture, manuscripts, and more. 
Each participant will be able to create a medieval-style manuscript of their own inspired by stories and objects that are important in their own lives. 
This program is recommended for students ages 7–12 but is open to the whole family. This is not a drop-off event. One adult per group is required to attend. 
Adults, seniors, and students are $8 each; children 4 and under are free but will not have supplies provided.

Fireman's Field Complex, 250 S. Nursery Ave., Purcellville, VA, 20132

The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.
