Local & Celebrity Golfers Compete for an Invitation to Pebble Beach
Philadelphia, PA – The National Kidney Foundation will hold the 4th Annual NKF Golf Classic at Huntingdon Valley Country Club on September 15, 2014 at 10am. The tournament is part of a nationwide series of over 30 amateur golf tournaments across the country, and invites the top five local finishers to compete at Pebble Beach Resorts.

The NKF Golf Classic, the nation’s premier amateur golf event for charity, has raised more than $90 million for the National Kidney Foundation’s awareness, prevention and treatment programs across the country. This year’s local tournament hopes to raise nearly $120,000 for local initiatives.
“This event serves as one our most important fundraisers and we are hopeful to grow event participation and support to exceed our goal for 2014,” said NKF Golf Classic Chairman, Anthony F. Naccarato. Naccarato also sits on the National Kidney Foundation’s local Board of Directors, and is President of local structural engineering firm, O’Donnell & Naccarato.

The top five foursomes from both the Handicap Index Division and the Gross Division will qualify to tee off in the National Finals held over three days on the famed greens of the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and The Links at Spanish Bay.
The emcee for the NKF Golf Classic is Chris Murphy of Fox News. Chris is a co-anchor on Fox 29’s “Good Day Philadelphia” and hosted “Travel Gear” on The Travel Channel earlier in his career.
Dei Lynam, of Comcast SportsNet, and her father, former 76ers coach Jim Lynam, will be the two celebrity golfers at the event.
Local sponsors of this event include birdie sponsors O’Donnell & Naccarato and Equus Capital Partners, Ltd, cart sponsor Ballard Spahr, and hat sponsor PCS. Photography will be provided by Chris Kendig Photography.
Golfers will compete for prizes donated by national sponsors including One Car One Difference, Birdie Box, PING, Golf Digest, the Greg Norman Collection and Tiffany & Co. Golfers will also be able to participate in the silent auction, which features a Zamboni ride at the November 4th Philadelphia Flyers game, a round of golf for four at Huntingdon Valley Country Club, vacation packages provided by Elite Island Resorts, and much more!
