After her identify as a covert CIA operative was outed by senior White House officials in 2003, Plame resigned from the Agency and wrote her best-selling memoir, Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House. The book became a motion picture by the same title in 2010 and starred Sean Penn and Naomi Watts.
The cost is $60 and includes a full brunch and omelet bar, valet parking and the knowledge you are helping support the Huntingdon Valley Library’s mission to provide a vibrant welcoming environment where everyone will engage, explore and enjoy. All Plame titles, including Fair Game and Burned and Blowback from her spy thriller series will be available for sale and signing at the brunch.

Plame, who was inducted into the Lower Moreland High School Hall of Fame, has a personal connection to the Library as both her parents, Sam and Diane Plame, served on the board of trustees. Plame will share tales at the brunch from her storied career, books, and new ventures.
HVL Director Sharon Moreland-Sender said, “Valerie generously agreed to waive her fee to speak at our brunch. I sincerely appreciate her support as we’re facing uncertain state funding and still hope to achieve some of the key goals from our new strategic plan, like expanded services and hours. This will be our third annual author event and we are so excited to have Valerie share her story with us.”
Invitations are going out to several special guests and local celebrities and there will be a limited-ticket “VIP Meet and Greet” opportunity at 10 am, before the general admission. The first 50 people who purchase these special tickets (at $160 each total), are able to meet Plame before brunch doors open, to get their books personalized and pose for photographs.
