Breaking: Explosives were found in a home in Lower Providence Monday morning.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Explosives were found in a home in Lower Providence Monday morning, authorities said, and were later safely detonated by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Bomb Squad nearby. No injuries have been reported.
The explosives were found at a home on the 2700 block of Apple Valley Lane while the residence was being cleaned out at around 9:23 a.m., police said. The homeowner said that her late husband had worked in the blasting field, and the materials were believed to be his.
Authorities determined that it was safest to detonate the items, "out of an abundance of caution," based on their age.
